After my late arrival to San Francisco on Monday night, I enjoyed a nice dinner out with my good friends and former teammates from Northwestern, Charlie and Tim. Charlie, new to SF as of four months ago, suggested a good Italian restaurant downtown which we enjoyed throughly. Near the end of dinner, another friend of mine from my time in Madison (now once again a resident of SF), surprised us at dinner and ultimately welcomed us over afterward for drinks and some good conversation. I have seen any of these people in a while, so a night in of just relaxing and talking was what I needed.

Something I’ve never done before in life is surf so I figured I’d give it a go while out here and with nothing to lose. I was never a big skateboarder or wake boarder, but I feel comfortable with most things having to do with water, so I figured I’d be able to get the hang of it pretty quickly. Boy, was I wrong.

Welcome to New York

Sorry for the long delay in post time. Though I'm not working, I'm still finding it difficult to find a few spare minutes to do a little bit of writing. It's been pretty much non-stop action for the last week-and-a-half so I'm just now getting a chance to catch up. After a fun weekend in Boston, I made my way down to New York City for the long, holiday weekend. After 5 days in the city, my perspective has shifted a bit from what it used to be.

Shipping Up to Boston

I reached Boston Thursday night and met up with a great friend of mind from my time living in Madison, WI. He graciously offered to let me stay at his apartment with his two other roommates up in Cambridge, MA, not too far outside of Boston and the home of Harvard University. I've been to Boston once before, but only for a short period of time. I certainly didn't have any time to do much of the tourist stuff while here, so I was looking forward to having that opportunity over the coming few days.
